Hi! Just noticed that you have signed on as a participant in WikiProject Computer science, and wanted to welcome you to the project. [edit] Edit summaries
I have noted that you often edit without an edit summary. Please do your best to always fill in the summary field. This is considered an important guideline in Wikipedia, and even a short summary is better than no summary. Thanks. Picaroon9288 01:38, 23 October 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Please support complement EU !!!
Hi,as a EU supporter maybe you´d like to support this: I´m trying to implement the 'EU' in the city-templates of European city articles. The EU should be mentioned next to the country; like country : Spain / EU Please support the enhancement in these templates and argue for the innovation if you want to. Would be great.

Thanks for your kind words.
Our lab is trying to contribute to the OLPC (aka $100 laptop) effort. I'd welcome your help. If you're interested, consider creating a Greek demo of an educational application; probably based on the Squeak platform <http://wiki.laptop.org/go/Squeak>. In this way you can work on your own machine, and then we can then demo it on the actual OLPC hardware.

[edit] Tor Lillqvist
A tag has been placed on Tor Lillqvist, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done because the article seems to be about a person, group of people, band, club, company, or web content, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is notable, that is, why an article about that subject should be included in Wikipedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, articles that do not assert notability may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable, and if you can indicate why the subject of this article is notable, you may contest the tagging. To do this, add {{hangon}}
on the top of the page and leave a note on the article's talk page explaining your position. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the article that would confirm its subject's notability under the guidelines.
For guidelines on specific types of articles, you may want to check out our criteria for biographies, for web sites, for bands, or for companies. Feel free to leave a note on my talk page if you have any questions about this. Angus McLellan (Talk) 15:27, 24 December 2006 (UTC)

- You're welcome. If you believe that Lillqvist merits an article, you can ask at WP:DRV for it to be undeleted. I suspect that the article wouldn't survive at WP:AFD, but you can certainly ask for other opinions. Very best wishes, Angus McLellan (Talk) 13:51, 26 December 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Translation Request
The article Velanidia (Laconia), Greece has been put on the English Wikipedia written entirely in Greek. It has been proposed for deletion for this reason. Can you look at it, and if worth saving, remove the {{tl:prod}} template and translate? Thanks. (I picked you from the bottom of the list at Wikipedia:Translators available#Greek-to-English. [edit] AfD Alert
An editor has nominated the article Meanings of asteroid names (139001-140000) for deletion, under the Articles for deletion process. We appreciate your contributions, but the nominator doesn't believe it satisfies Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and has explained why in the nomination (also see What Wikipedia is not and Deletion policy). Your opinions on why the topic of the article meets inclusion criteria and what should be done with the article are welcome: participate in the discussion by editing Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Meanings of asteroid names (139001-140000). Add four tildes like this ˜˜˜˜ to sign your comments. You can also edit the article Meanings of asteroid names (139001-140000) during the discussion, but do not remove the "Articles for Deletion" template (the box at the top of the article), this will not end the deletion debate. [edit] Helping out with the Unassessed Wikipedia Biographies
Seeing that you are an active member of the WikiBiography Project, I was wondering if you would help lend a hand in helping us clear out the amount of [unassessed articles] tagged with {{WPBiography}}. Many of them are of stub and start class, but a few are of B or A caliber. Getting a simple assessment rating can help us start moving many of these biographies to a higher quality article. [edit] AfD nomination of Canadian Telework Association
An editor has nominated Canadian Telework Association, an article on which you have worked or that you created, for deletion. We appreciate your contributions, but the nominator doesn't believe that the article satisfies Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion and has explained why in his/her nomination (see also "What Wikipedia is not"). Your opinions on whether the article meets inclusion criteria and what should be done with the article are welcome; please participate in the discussion by adding your comments at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Canadian Telework Association and please be sure to sign your comments with four tildes (~~~~). You may also edit the article during the discussion to improve it but should not remove the articles for deletion template from the top of the article; such removal will not end the deletion debate. Thank you. Please note: This is an automatic notification by a bot. I have nothing to do with this article or the deletion nomination, and can't do anything about it. [edit] Re: usefulness of redlinks
Yes, it is true that Wikipedia would not have 2 million pages articles today, if it weren't for red links. I agree that red links is not a bad thing when used appropriately, but I don't think its so suitable to use it for inappropriately things like people who don't have sufficient notability to warrant an own article. 7-Zip is a great software, which I use myself. But it along with the SDK is the only thing hes known for, hes not known for anything else. -- Frap 16:57, 15 September 2007 (UTC)
[edit] graphism
Per your suggestion I moved the reference to graphism to Philosophy of mathematics, but I'm a bit unsure whether I put in the correct place within that article. A paper indicated that maths use less graphs than natural sciences, and there is a proposition that graph use is higher in hard sciences than soft sciences. Therefore, if the proposition is true, we see that the graphism thesis has a direct relation to the question "is maths a science?". I know this has to be expanded further, but for now that's what I can do, and I hope someone else can step in and improve on my contribution. NerdyNSK 16:43, 16 September 2007 (UTC)
- It might be a good idea to broach the subject at the article talk page, or at WP:WPM (the project for coordinating maths articles) to get wider input on this. I'm only one chap, and my expertise in mathematics, such as it is, is directed towards mathematical analysis and its implications. --Mark H Wilkinson (t, c) 16:55, 16 September 2007 (UTC)
[edit] Your edits to Swarm Intelligence
I have reverted a batch of your changes to Swarm Intelligence. For one, you added few ambiguous wikilinks that do NOT lead to the relevant wikipages (such as Beni and Wang). Secondly, there is absolutely no value in wikilinking trivial common words that are not important in the context of the article; like movie, mathematics, environment, etc. Wikipedia is not a Hyperdictionary. Please consider the relevance of wikilinks if you are going to re-add them into the article. Thanks. Alex Pankratov 19:53, 17 September 2007 (UTC)
[edit] OpenLearn
A {{prod}} template has been added to the article OpenLearn, suggesting that it be deleted according to the proposed deletion process. All contributions are appreciated, but this article may not satisfy Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and the deletion notice explains why (see also "What Wikipedia is not" and Wikipedia's deletion policy). You may contest the proposed deletion by removing the {{dated prod}}
notice, but please explain why you disagree with the proposed deletion in your edit summary or on its talk page. Also, please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Even though removing the deletion notice will prevent deletion through the proposed deletion process, the article may still be deleted if it matches any of the speedy deletion criteria or it can be sent to Articles for Deletion, where it may be deleted if consensus to delete is reached. If you endorse deletion of the article, and you are the only person who has made substantial edits to the page, please tag it with {{db-author}}. Phgao 18:19, 20 September 2007 (UTC)

- Plesae note, I did that as the article currently is very short, and perhaps it should redirect instead. Thanks! If you don't agree, feel free to remove tag. Phgao 18:20, 20 September 2007 (UTC)
- Yes, I agree in some point, but in the end, I did not redirect it, I left that up to you. You may wish to do drafts on a subpage of your user page next time or like you say place that tag up! As I patrol new pages, one must make those decisions. See you around! Phgao 18:35, 20 September 2007 (UTC)

[edit] State geological article requests
Hi. I honestly expected wikipedia to have full detailed articles on Geology by state e.g Geology of California or Geology of Utah. I'm not even from the States but I had fully expected a detailed article on each state. Some of the American geological articles are very poor or non existent see Basic geologic features of each state. PLease could your project aim to start these articles and develop them. The newsletter is back! Many things have gone on during the past few months, but many things have not. While the assessment drive helped revitalize the assessment department of the project, many other departments have received no attention. Most notably: peer review and our "workgroups". A day long IRC meeting has been planned for October 13th, with the major focus being which areas of the project are "dead", what should our goals be as a project, and how to "revive" the dead areas of our project. Contribute to the discussion on the the new channel (see below) We decided to deliver this newsletter to all project members this month but only those with their names down here will get it delivered in the future. This is your newsletter and you can be involved in the creation of the next issue. Any and all contributions are welcome. Simply let yourself be known to any of the undersigned or post news on the next issue's talk page
Lastly, a new WikiProject Biography channel has been set up on the freenode network: Our thanks to Phoenix 15 for setting it up.

[edit] GNU/Linux
Hi. I just saw the discussion on User talk:Thumperward about the GNU/Linux name.
FWIW, his claimed consensus does not exist. If I had had time, I would have contested Thumperward's "tidying" wave where he removed all "GNU/Linux" links from en.wikipedia.org. --Gronky 01:00, 11 October 2007 (UTC)
- Consensus does exist, and contrary to Gronky's claims he knows full well that I'm as clued-up to the history of GNU, Unix and Linux as he is. I do not, however, interpret the history of the project the same way he does. Wikipedia's free software articles would improve immeasurably faster if the pro-FSF people would stop finding conspiracies to force them off Wikipedia wherever they turn and instead actually engage in discussion in the appropriate places rather than hanging around each other's talk pages congratulating each other of not being as "ignorant of history" as the rest of the project. Gronky's seemingly given up trying to sway the project, and is instead engaging random editors on their talk pages. That's not a way to build consensus. Chris Cunningham 10:07, 16 October 2007 (UTC)

[edit] WXXS Article Request
76.118.247.91 03:19, 19 October 2007 (UTC)
Not to be over-demanding but do you think you could visit the WXXS discussion page and read the final section of the page? If not, I was just asking. Thank you for your time. Management has confirmed the format for WXXS Kiss 102.3 is Diverse Hot AC / Top 40 Variety. This just means their edge up on competition is that they play a much wider selection of music, particularly older Top 40 hits that no longer get airplay on most radio stations. Anyway, if you have anything to say about this topic, please leave the comment on the WXXS discussion page, not this page.
[edit] Termite mounds attribution
Hi. Yes feel free to use it - thanks for asking. The creative commons licence has its own symbol, but it's a pain toi use, so feel free to use a regular (c) symbol with a link to the wikicommons page where the licence is spelled out.
I'd be interested in seeing how you use, and would be grateful if you could send me a link when you do so.
The human being is my wife who has agreed to its use in this way.

[edit] AfD nomination of HP Photosmart E427
I have nominated HP Photosmart E427, an article you created, for deletion. I do not feel that this article satisfies Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and have explained why at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/HP Photosmart E427. Your opinions on the matter are welcome at that same discussion page; also, you are welcome to edit the article to address these concerns. Thank you for your time. Marlith (Talk) 05:38, 1 February 2008 (UTC)
[edit] Speedy deletion of EQF
A tag has been placed on EQF requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A3 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because it is an article with no content whatsoever, or whose contents consist only of external links, "See also" section, book reference, category tag, template tag, interwiki link, rephrasing of the title, or an attempt to contact the subject of the article. Please see Wikipedia:Stub for our minimum information standards for short articles. Also please note that articles must be on notable subjects and should provide references to reliable sources that verify their content.
If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}}
to the top of the page (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the article's talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the article meets the criterion it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the article that would would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. <3 bunny 18:49, 17 February 2008 (UTC)
[edit] Meetup in Athens
Hello! I'd like to turn the first meetup of Wikipedians in Athens, Greece to your attention. We're a group of students involving three German Wikipedia admins and have set up this meetup for March 31st, 6:00 PM (18:00). The location is (to be exspected) the Ama Lachi.
