Writer of Strategic affairs and Nepal's Foreign Policy
Mr. Nishchal Nath Pandey (b. 1972) is a well known Nepali writer on strategic affairs and Nepal's conduct of international affairs. He is the author of "Nepal's Maoist Movement and Implications for India and China" published in 2005. His other work "India's Northeast, Insurgency, Economic Development and Linkage with South East Asia" is forthcoming. Additionally, he has edited / co-edited over a dozen books including: "Comprehensive Security in South Asia", "Nepal as a Transit State: Emerging Possibilities", "New Life within SAARC", "Trade Facilitation: Nepal's Priorities", "Nepal-China Relations", "Nepal-Japan Relations", "Labor Issues and Foreign Policy", and "Nepal and the United Nations". Pandey is M.A.B.L from Tribhuvan University, Kathmandu and contributes frequently to internationally reputed journals and newsmagazines. He was also Executive Director of the Kathmandu based Institute of Foreign Affairs and Visiting Fellow at the Institute of South Asian Studies, Singapore. Currently he is a consultant at the Institute of South Asian Studies, Singapore.
