[edit] Luis Abaddie

Hello! I have recently been in contact with Luis Abbadie who is a Wiccan of some note here in Mexico. He gave me information about the first time Wicca is mentioned in Mexican literature, long with the citation of the book. I would like to include this information in the article but I wish to give Mr. Abbadie due credit. Any suggestions?

Put it here on the Talk Page, that sort of thing is usually never done as far as I know. If Mr. Abbadie is notable enough for his own article than it is possible it could be added there somewhere.... I look in to policy and guidelines for you. BtW, love your Class Project; wish my professors were this cool. Zidel333 14:35, 1 August 2007 (UTC)
I got a response that it would not be feasible, basically because there is no way any other Wikipedian can confirm that it wasnt just something I made up in my head. And I can understand that. I asked Mr. Abbadie if he could made the addition of the information as he is in possession of the book he talks about in his email. I guess what really needs to be done is some kind of non-WP article about this topic.

Or you could ask him for a bibliographic reference for the passage in the book. Then, you can add the information and cite the book that he has. The critical issue is that the book must be a reliable source and verifiable. That means it can't be a self-published vanity publisher book.

[edit] Citation issue raised by Richard

The paragraph that begins with the fact that neopaganism arrived to Mexico in the 80's via the internet comes from the Gutierrez Zuñiga article. I think I made correctly the footnote reference. Thelmadatter 19:28, 7 August 2007 (UTC)Thelmadatter

[edit] Odinismo

We have basically three articles relating to this idea, Wotanism, Odinic Rite, and Ásatrú. A more specific link to whichever article, if any, is the most similar article might be in order. John Carter 19:29, 28 August 2007 (UTC)

Hello Thelma (and others - it's a nice coincidence that after I offered to help mentor your students I realised from this article that you're interested in Neopaganism too. I've added this article to the Neopaganism project, which you might like to visit and even join! [edit] Ideology of the Mexican Sacred Fire Odinist Brotherhood

Ideology of the Mexican Sacred Fire Odinist Brotherhood

The time has elapsed since a day 22 December in 1997 a group of people they formed the base of this brotherhood whose purpose was the study of the tradition of our ancestros and our faith included inside our spirituality known as heathenry, haithnu or Odinismo

We learned and we evolve of the different prevailing currents of the epoch inside the spirituality drinking of sources as the asatru the theodish and the Odinismo anglo saxon, clear examples in organizations that conformed its efforts in spreading the faith of our God and goddesses

The objective of the conformación of the brotherhood is: to you create you groups of united individuals by oaths of blood continuing to code of nine noble virtues practicing the religion of our ancestors.

They organized of a tribal form with the objective to bequeath this knowledge acquired in the group and in an individual way to the descendants to the families that compose this brotherhood

Knowledgeable that they lacked many know-how we gave us wing task to translate and to establish weary with organizations of the entire world where always they received us with respect and hospitality

Being the first organization formally established as point of encounter and of diffusion of the teaching of our faith in Mexico

Calling us Odinists as a mere one I finish general, whose spirituality this centered in a Tribal leader of the God that we call Vodan not because of it to stopping honoring and to the other God and goddesses of the pantheon heathen

Focusing us in living our spirituality day with day to promote and to live the customs of our ancestors for subsequently convert us ourselves in ancestors through our descent; being we will preserve and at the same time reconstructing you form old to adapt them to our united present as the brothers sharing that knowledge and that clear mission of create cells that spread these premises of honor and values centered in the family and the faith Germanic as the descendants of so noble towns of Europe

Ourselves were rejecting Manichaean and absurd ideas discovering that in the reconstruction of this religion there was not a single road, but a complex web of realities and studies intertwined with the work of many brothers in other countries that al to live their spirituality they gave form to all this current

We take up again the road in learning about runes and the different runic systems that there is nowadays, concentrating on to read on philosophy poetry and organization of the north towns believing in our God understanding that forces exist that do not know neither we will explain us but that been present in our lives and in which surrounds us

We define us of any type of political affiliation, seeking the spirituality and the religiousness, being able in this brotherhood any brother with its political ideology to be respected, but done not declare inside her

Since this brotherhood in its entirety is presented like apolitical, our faith has the sufficient ideological base as for have not that to be completed with the politics.

Creating to itself a respect and a guideline that saw that was one of the wrongs that corroded the organizations inside the heathenry in the world

We move away of any type of racism taking as organization the tribalism since one of its maximums any that to be adopted by the tribe is part of her with equality of rights and obligations

We were innovators on that respect although arose of the nothing was the fruit of other born groups in the return to see the past and the return to the old customs

Developing with the passage of time adequate our own system functioned in the organization of this brotherhood

We believe in mix not different roads and religions with our faith in our God the deformation of those ideas is something by which always we will be in against the indiscriminate use of the tendency to see all as part of an all, when we believe that each thing has an essence in if and to if should remain respected taking as an example that Jesus is the God Balder and that Odin is mercury

We believe that to combine this type of you practice alone carries to the ignorance and the empty spiritual one calling it with him I finish universalist

We respect all the very clear forms of spirituality leaving that is what are and that is what we do not want to be

Taking the reconstruction and recovery of the language and the Gothic writing as an endorsement to give homogeneity to this movement, like a sacred language so that some descending our day they can speak it daily

It splits of its force will be that the customs and the culture of long ago be transferred to this present in order to creating more spiritual, more conscious individuals with regard to what surrounds them, and with a great sense of respect by the universe that surrounds them, by the life and by the equilibrium that thisinvolves in Midjungard

Our temples are all the forests and the heat of our very clear homes leaving that there will not be headquarters in the shape of churches or constructions that do temples in this brotherhood in some place but every Midjungard will be employee for it respecting and honoring the nature and his sacred forests taking care of the ecology and of our animal brothers which in the animal kingdom we base the conformación of ours clans

We take to the forests as an example clear of what is our spirituality taking all the clans and brotherhoods emanated of this same one the symbol of the tree cosmic Eomerssil flanked by the stars of the constellation of the big dipper and having in the high thing of the same tree an eagle crowned by the double star of polaris taking the spiritual north of our tradition as lighthouse that offers us in the darkness of the infinite space
