This is a notable, and controversial, organization in Nigeria. See [1]. The article is entirely pro-Neo Black Movement, and there's definitely an anti side. From the previous reference, a Government of Canada document on political asylum requests: "The Black Axe Confraternity (BAC), also known as the Neo-Black Movement of Africa (NBMA), is described by one source as "one of the largest and most feared secret cults on Nigerian campuses" (Tempo 25 July 2002). According to an Integrated Regional Information Network (IRIN) report, the BAC was one of the first student cults to emerge in Nigeria during the 1970s, and although inter-cult rivalry was initially "limited to fist fights," approximately 250 people have been killed in cult violence during the last 10 years (1 Aug. 2002). The Neo Black Movement aka the Neo Black Movement is the worst thing ever to come out of any university anywhere not just in Nigeria.It's nothing more than a brutal gang populated by thieves, rapists and murderers who parade themselves as respectable students. It is a shame that people can actually associate with such imbeciles. Movement oooo! There's no need to disrepute the previous posts because they are born out of misunderstanding (on the part of non members) and mistakes (on the part of members). Like all great organisations the neo black movement has experienced its own ills but we are fighting the manace and masterminds that have so tarnished our beloved movement for a long time. Everything posted on the wikipedia website is true (as initiatly postulated by our ff) but we do have alot of bad eggs amongst us that have gravely disrupted the peace of the movement. We are moving on, we shall redirect our minds, we shall get to the great uhuru! All sm should stop posting useless words on this talk page and allow all non members to express their views. Remember: Equality, Peace and Social Justice for all! Thanks be to the last writer.I grew up to love the movement,but as the days went by it became more of oppresion rather than to fight oppression. Many mothers have lots their sons to this movemenmt. many loving sons have become evil and you their not look in thier eyes. As a bini man who grew up in Benin-city,and know the tradition of the land.i here by say Neo Black Movement is serect cult which is no longer screct,and have put pains in many home even my home if not the grace of God. Well, the NBM probably started out with lofty ideals and all, but I graduated from a university in Nigeria and I can tell the world that to all intents and purposes, the Neo-Black Movement and Black Axe Confaternity are ONE AND THE SAME. Murders, rapes, thefts and intimidation were, in my time, carried out routinely by the NBM/Black Axe, and the above posts from Black Axe thugs bear out the inseperability of the NBM from Black Axe. For the record, and to the best of my 'jew-man' (outsider) knowledge, the only 'respectable' group that really did withdraw from campuses and wash their name free of blood is the Pyrates Confraternity, of which the notable Wole Soyinka is a member...they alone managed to dissociate their name from the violence.
