A neodog is a category of dog breed which has characteristics that cause it to better adapt to a modern, urban lifestyle than other breeds. Neodogs tend to be small, hypoallergenic, gregarious, intelligent, highly photogenic and easily trainable. Some examples of neodog breeds are Coton de Tulear, English Bulldog and Chihuahua. They have become popular celebrity accessories and are gaining in popularity with the general populace. The term may originate from the Magnus: Robot Fighter series of comic books which featured sentient, talking dogs known as neodogs.
