Among very broad movement of new age music, neo-classical disctintion strongly influenced and sometimes even based on the early, baroque or classical music especially in terms of melody and composition. In either case a performer can offer a modern arrangements of an established composer or combining elements from the classical styles with modern elements to produce original compositions. Many artists in this genre are classically trained musicians. Neo-classical music is generally melodic, architecturaly proportional, very harmonic and can often be found among different genres not among New Age music only, but from pure electronic, and solo instrumental to minimalist music. The raise of the genre can be traced back almost to the New age music origin in 70-80th.
