Nemuro (根室市 Nemuro-shi?, Ainu: Ni mu oro) is a city and port located in Nemuro, Hokkaidō. It is the capital city of Nemuro Subprefecture. Much of the city lies on the Nemuro Peninsula.
As of 2008, the city has an estimated population of 30,560 and the density of 60.2 persons per km². The total area is 512.63 km².
The city was founded on August 1, 1957.
Nearby Nakashibetsu Airport serves Nemuro.
