- Held numerous academic posts, the highlight of which are -
- Vice President and Acting President at the Applied Science University, Jordan
- Dean of the faculties of Science and Arts at Amman National University, Jordan
- Professor at Kuwait University (1970 - 1990)
- Visited and lectured at various foriegn universities including but not limited to Oxford University (1977)
- Attended and participated in numerous scientific seminars and conferences hosted in arabic and foriegn universities and institutions
- Participated in laying the foundation of the Palestinian Encyclopedia and defining its content as well as writing some of the content. He was the chief editor for reviewing its first edition (2002 - 2004)
- Advisor for GEOprojects (U.K.) Ltd, in collaborating on the production of maps and atlases for various arabic countries
- Advisor to the Hisham Hijawi College of Technology, and supervised the establishement of the Hijawi College of Technology at Yarmouk University, Irbid
- Founded along with others the Arab Investment and Development Company in Jordan during the late seventies, and headed its board of directors for two consecutive sessions.
