Talk:Nella Larsen

Just a note to say that I wrote the original biographical section using the referenced biography as my main source -- I no longer have a copy of the biography around so I can't provide page numbers, but the things marked as needing citation, such as the parents names, all come from that book. Tom
[edit] Cut from article
I cut the following from the article, because it seemed to be written as "talk page" stuff, not article content, since it seems to be arguing with other statements in the article without changing them. It was with reference to the novel Passing. I've never read the book, so I'm not the one to sort this out.
To say that Clare and Brian (Irene's husband) had an affair is not true. Irene thinks Brian wants to leave her for Clare because Clare is whiter then her, but there is no basis for this claim. It is really Irene being jealous of Clare for being able to pass whenever she wants, and Irene is not able to because of her family.

[edit] Bisexual?
Wikipedia has her on its list of bisexuals. On the website glbtq, they call her bisexual. But I've never seen anyone say she got down with women. Is she deemed bisexual just because the two main characters in "Passing" could be read that way? jcm 5/16/8 —Preceding unsigned comment added by Chumley41 (talk • contribs) 15:48, 16 May 2008 (UTC)
[edit] Odd passage
"…to strive for equality would be them becoming avaricious" reads like a poor translation from some other language. I'm not even certain what it means to say. - Jmabel | Talk 23:32, 22 December 2006 (UTC)
