Nelly Arcan

Nelly Arcan (born in 1973) is a Canadian novelist.

She was born in the Eastern Townships of Quebec. Her first novel, Putain, enjoyed immediate critical and media success and was a finalist for both the Prix Médicis and the Prix Fémina. Since then, Arcan has written several short stories, opinion pieces and columns for various Quebec newspapers and literary magazines.

Arcan lives in Montreal.
