Nelson CLK Silicone Firestop Caulking, applied at the end of 4" diameter PVC pipes, ca. 1/2" thick, cured, then loaded for several weeks with a 6' head of water. The bulging silicone bubbles were also subjected to undocumented abuse by Nelson factory workers, who left footprints on their way in and out of work, as this was simply left outside. The firestop held the water and the test was discontinued with no rupture having occurred. This is a simple means to test water resistance for a firestop. |
