[edit] Official website inactive

The NNWA has gone bust(!) see their website. This is really annoying on all kinds of levels. They state a new one will rise from the ashes, but site is turning into a cobweb. (Comment by REH) —Preceding unsigned comment added by 86.140.76.133 (talk • contribs)

The original NNWA website is now updated a run as an official Home Office site. ColinBoylett 11:38, 25 February 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Could do with some critical comment

This article needs some reference to criticisms of NW schemes; as it stands, it looks as though they're always totally supported and utterly uncontroversial, which isn't the case. Basically it looks just slightly too much like an advert rather than a properly neutral encyclopedia article. 86.132.138.224 02:22, 30 August 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Contested move request

The following request to move a page has been added to Wikipedia:Requested moves as an uncontroversial move, but this has been contested by one or more people. Any discussion on the issue should continue here. If a full request is not lodged within five days of this request being contested, the request will be removed from WP:RM.Dekimasuよ! 12:36, 29 October 2007 (UTC)

The WP:RM listing has expired, but here is the relevant discussion, which can be applied to a full request if desired. Dekimasuよ! 12:38, 29 October 2007 (UTC)

  • Neighbourhood Watch (UK)Neighbourhood Watch —(Discuss)— This is the only neighbourhood watch with this spelling based in the UK —Reginmund 16:11, 20 October 2007 (UTC)
    • The difference between Neighbourhood Watch and Neighborhood Watch is not very noticeable, and many people are likely to write one for the other, given the tendency of UK-spellers to pick up Americanisms via the internet. Anthony Appleyard 16:22, 20 October 2007 (UTC)
    • There's a DAB link at the top of each page. I don't see why we can't disambiguate between spelling differences. It worked for Apollo Theatre and Apollo Theater. Reginmund 21:56, 20 October 2007 (UTC)
    • Aren't there also neighbourhood watches in Canada? (which would use the non-US spelling)... 132.205.99.122 18:09, 22 October 2007 (UTC)
  • Maybe there is, but there's no article on it. Reginmund 23:13, 22 October 2007 (UTC)
