Neill Campbell

Neill Campbell was a governor of New Jersey, succeeding Gawen Lawrie, from 1686–1687. His father was the 9th Earl of Argyll, who was executed in 1685 for his participation in the Monmouth rebellion. Campbell himself was exiled from Scotland.

Campbell was recalled to England on business issues in March 1687. Andrew Hamilton became the governor in placement for him. Campbell never returned to New Jersey after that.
