[edit] Biography
Having started his career in the entertainment industry as a bar manager and later, an owner, Neil Moffitt sought to expand into the world of nightclubs, and in 1999, that goal was realized when he arranged a business partnership with the UK-based superclub brand, Godskitchen, operated by Chris Griffin and Tyrone De Savery. Via this arrangement, the venue "CODE" was born, which made it's debut in the autumn of 2000, with DJ/Producer Paul Oakenfold as the star headliner. With an initial crowd of 15,000 persons, and many more being turned away due to capacity issues, CODE was dubbed a success in the United Kingdom nightclub scene.
With the success of CODE in his portfolio in addition to several other successful nightclub ventures, Moffitt proceeded to venture into producing some of the biggest arena events the UK had ever seen for dance music, booking such DJ/Producers as Paul Oakenfold, Tiësto, Paul Van Dyk, and many others, under the Godskitchen and Polysexual imprints.
In addition to arena events, Moffitt diversified his company, now called Angel Music Group into the highly-competitive UK music festival market. In late 2000, the plans were laid for Angel's premiere music festival, to be called Global Gathering. Taking place at Long Marston Airfield near the historic town of Stratford-upon-Avon, Global Gathering 2001 proved to be one of the UK's premiere festivals upon it's debut the following summer, placing the imprint with already-legendary festivals such as Glastonbury. The following years have seen the multi-day music and entertainment festival draw upwards of 35,000 persons, as well as including fairgrounds, and an exhibition by the Red Arrows, the Royal Air Force's elite aerobatic team. Later, the Global Gathering brand was expanded worldwide, with two major festivals in the United States in 2006.
Seeing potential in the burgeoning American market, Moffitt chose to relocate to the United States, specifically Las Vegas, in late 2004, one of the results being of him taking on the role of managing partner in the nightclub ICE. Chosen as the venue depicted in the 2005 TV Show The Club, ICE was one of the most successful freestanding nightclubs in Las Vegas. Later on in 2005, Moffitt and Angel produced a series of events for top-rated DJ/Producer Tiësto, with sold-out events in Los Angeles, Miami, and Las Vegas, despite the Miami event being postponed by Hurricane Wilma.
In 2006, Moffitt steered the efforts of Angel Music Group to the area of nightlife consulting, with two of the more high-profile clients being the Ameristar chain, as well as the MGM Grand in Las Vegas, where he and his team oversee the design, marketing, operations, and talent booking for each of the client venues, including the development of new nightclubs and event spaces, such as the MGM Grand's flagship poolside venue, Wet Republic.
In addition, as of 2008, Moffitt is directing the expansion of his properties into several East Coast markets, with the initial market being Miami, Florida.
