Neil Andrew Channing (born 9 December 1967 in Reading, Berkshire) is an English professional poker player and author based in Battersea, London. He is the reigning Irish Poker Open champion.

Before turning professional, he worked as a bookmaker at various UK racecourses, but his prices were more generous than financially prudent.

Channing finished in the prize money for the World Series of Poker (WSOP) $10,000 No Limit Hold'em Main Event in 2004, 2005 and he came in 131st in 2007 his highest to date.

In the 2005 World Speed Poker Open, Channing outlasted both Korosh Nejad and Michael Greco in his heat before finishing on the bubble in his semi-final event.

In March 2008, Channing won the 2008 Irish Poker Open and €801,400 (over $1,200,000) against a field of 667 players. [1] Channing is said to have bet £500 on himself at 100/1 to win this event.[2]

Channing is a regular columnist for Bluff Europe Magazine. He is sponsored to play poker tournaments by Pokerverdict.com.[3]

As of 2008, his total live tournament winnings exceed $1,700,000.[4]
