Talk:Negril

[edit] Location--Parish

If one regards Negril as including all the resorts to the north, to Bloody Bay, then Negril is located both in Westmoreland and in Hanover parishes. Downtown, the West End cliff resorts to the south of downtown, and the southern portion of the 7 mile beach are in Westmoreland. By the time one gets to the north end of the 7 mile beach, one is in Hanover.

[edit] Rick's Cafe

Rick's Cafe is a great place to watch the cliff jumpers or become a cliff jumper yourself. Rick's is considered one of the 1,000 places to go before you die.

Considered by who? If it's so awesome, could someone create a Rick's Cafe article or stub?

[edit] Rails on road to prevent landings

There's the story that raiload tracks were standing by the road to prevent smugglers from using it as an airstrip. But since the Negril Aerodrome is very close, why would anyone bother? Negril Aerodrome is a better place to land and take off, and it's largely unattended. This item smacks of urban legend. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 139.68.134.1 (talk) 17:42, 15 November 2007 (UTC)

The rail tracks were installed in 1969 or 1970, and the Negril Aerodrome was built in 1976, at which time the tracks were removed. There is always a low-key police presence at the Negril Aerodrome BomberJoe (talk) 09:26, 24 November 2007 (UTC)
