My claim of fair use is based on the following factors:

This use is part of an effort to research and document the history of sound recordings released by recording artists.
This work has been published.
Since the cover art serves merely as visual identification of a sound recording, it is not central to the entire work.
I have produced the image from a legally purchased copy of the original work.
The image is of sufficiently low resolution and quality as to be unsuitable for any serious effort to replace the legal sale of the work.
