It is quite nice to trace back the history. We might have to apply the Theory of probability in many occassions, but go on and on,ok.

These looks like a fiction, needs references to prove what it claims.

[edit] Namboothiris

Namboothiris were not present when St Thomas came.Though some migrant Brahmins did visit kerla they did not have any political clout in Predominantly Jain Chera and Pandiyan (Southern Kerala)kingdoms. Probably only Jews were converted since the Nazarenes Gospel of Mathews used till 600 AD was in Araemic a jewish dialect. Syrian -Nestorian sect was founded in 428 AD at Constantinoble. The first Syrian settlement occured at Kurekkenikollam at 824 AD.

[edit] Christian Caste

Most of the Christian immigrants did not come under the Dravidian caste system either. Unless they converted to Hinduism they were considered foreign blooded people only. Scythian Rajputs converted themselves to become Kshatriyas. But the socio economic condition of Christians was good because of their spice trade which was the main income of kerala. They were respected by the locals for the same. Even the Parsis who emigrated from Iran were much respected as a business community. The Yavanas(Greeks,Romans,Jews and christians)were allowed many privileges by the Chera kings as it was the custom.

[edit] Jain Heritage

When Christians came to kerala, Kerala used to be predominantly Jain country. Kerala used to be ruled by the Chera rulers who were orthodox Jains. No Brahmins were present in their court either.Neither Nairs in the Sangha age. Instead many jain monks and nuns like Manikekhalai were present. The title Varman predates aryan immigration. The Sanskrit Knowledge of Dravidians was through Jain and Buddhist monks. The Aryan Namboothiris came to kerala only after 800 AD during the Pallava period though the name appears much later at 1000 AD. The Namboothiri myth is deliberately propogated by Portuguese. While the original Namboothiris are only about 10 lakhs the Syrian Christians are more than forty lakhs in population. In the same way lakhs of Goan Christians claim to be Brahmins(GSB. Dravidians were related to Kush (Southern egyptian culture and Mesopotomian culture. They evolved only in India. Perhaps an advanced civilization who built city states of Mohanjadaro and harappa. The Southern Pandiyan kingdom is the oldest kingdom of Kerala, founded many thousand years ago. It is better to read ancient literatures like to understand better about the ancient history of Kerala. cNever heard about this family in the names assocaited with early christian churches established. This is just illusion. —The preceding unsigned comment was added by 69.137.143.203 (talk) 18:53, 23 January 2007 (UTC).
