Ned Wulk was the college basketball coach at Arizona State University from 1958 to 1982. He remains by far the winningest coach in school history, with a record of 406-272(.599). Wells Fargo Arena's basketball court is named after him in his honor. He was also very successful in Tempe as he went 94-24(.797) in home games. At the time of his 400th victory, he was one of only four then-active coaches to win 400 or more games at one school. He led ASU to 17 winning seasons in his 25 years.

Arizona State made 9 NCAA tournaments, and nearly made Final Four appearances in 1961, 1963, and 1975. His 1963 team still has the school record for wins at 26. During the previous season, he set the school record for longest winning streak at 18 games. He led the Sun Devils to the highest ranking in school history at 3. He was selected as the Pac Ten coach of the year in 1979, when ASU finished 21-6, including 15-3 in conference play. He also coached at Xavier University.
