[edit] Notability

I know that bands that members of another notable act start are considered notable, but are all the bandmates of that other band then notable, too? Then would all their bands be notable? That seems absurd. This band is two degrees from a notable act (Neck → Shane MacGowan and The Popes → The Pogues); it will have to assert notability in another way. What label are the releases on? -- Merope 20:32, 8 September 2006 (UTC)

I added the page once I saw the band mentioned in another article (The Fields Of Athenry) and saw an article about a movie for which they contributed some music for the soundtrack (The Emerald Diamond). I thought references from other Wikipedia articles warranted it. I've seen articles about other bands in the same genre (Amadan, etc) with less of a connection to any more well-known bands. I added a link to their record label, Hibernian Records. BTW, this is only my second article; was I supposed to remove the notability entry once I expanded the page? If not, I apologize. -- mrdano 01:42, 2006-09-10 (UTC)
