I have a BA and an MA in Physics from UC Berkeley, years ago. I still enjoy reading up on various aspects of theoretical physics and mathematics.
I currently work in systems engineering for a semiconductor company, in the field of telecommunications. In this capacity, I do a lot of technical presentation and argumentation, in the arena of technical standardization for xDSL modems, in adversarial discussion with competing companies and proposals.
I don't have hands-on expertise in atmospheric sciences, but I have read through and can follow the reasoning of:
- John Houghton's Global Warming - The Complete Briefing;
- John Houghton's The Physics of Atmospheres;
- Dennis Hartmann's Global Physical Climatology.
With regards to the Monckton anti-article project, I think I can contribute most in the direction of:
- - sharpening an argument, by trimming away what is unnecessary;
- - organization of the argument;
- - smoothing out the language and the tone; and
- - the occasional illuminating analogy.
