Nea-Nidelvvassdraget

Nea-Nidelvvassdraget is a watercourse in the municipalities of Tydal, Selbu, Klæbu and Trondheim in the county of Sør-Trøndelag, Norway. The total area of the watershed is 3100 km² and it runs for 160 km from the source in Sylan and out to Trondheimsfjorden. Trondheim Energiverk has 14 power stations in the water course which are highly regulated, and the total production is 2581 GWh (2004). Development of the area had already begun in 1890 with development of the Øvre Leirfoss power station.
Important rivers in Nea-Nidelvvassdraget are the Nidelva, Nea, Rotla, Lødølja and Tya. Amongst the biggest lakes are Sylsjøen, Nesjøen, Stugusjøen, Finnkoisjøen and Selbusjøen.
