It should be pointed out that this was the worst period in NBA history. Jordan won all of his 6, Phil won all of his 9 coaching, championships in the NBC era. Any coincidence? -Amit

- Pointing that out would be point of view, specially considering the Celtics dominated the late 1950s-early to middle 1960s.- Antonio repeat Glory Marti

- The ratings for that period would say otherwise; the NBA's top 4 rated NBA Finals occured in '93, '96, '97', and '98. Paulsen 20:33, 12 May 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Origin of Opening
When was the NBA on NBC open first used (you know, with the beams of light forming the peacock)? If it did indeed begin in 1990, then that would be saying a lot about the animation of that era! 71.111.232.40 22:10, 20 June 2006 (UTC)
It was futuristic animation... that's what made the NBA on NBC so great. Seriously, even some of the graphics in the late 90's seemed ahead of their time, as no other network really had 3-D transitions between replays. The graphics were always crisp and clean with NBC Sports, and not overdone. The font they used was perfect too. I always thought to myself, if I were to setup a broadcast with graphics, I'd choose NBC's naturally. Amazing. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 99.235.221.33 (talk) 04:12, 11 April 2008 (UTC)
[edit] "The" NBA on NBC?
Just curious as to where "The" is used as an official title. Every instance I see is strictly NBA on NBC. --Zimbabweed 01:14, 19 November 2006 (UTC)
- Good point. The visual title of the show is "NBA on NBC"; while 'The' is added before the title in spoken word, (ex., Jim Fagan saying "this is the NBA on NBC"), it is not in the actual title. I moved the page to 'NBA on NBC'. Phillip J. Fry 01:31, 6 December 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Fan Support section
This section is unreferenced, poorly written and punctuated, and adds very little value to the article. I propose it be deleted entirely. If someone wants to put together a coherent, researched new section on the same topic, be my guest. The current one should probably go. Franklin Bynum 04:54, 3 November 2007 (UTC)
I am Marv Albert. I miss the NBA on NBC. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 99.235.221.33 (talk) 04:10, 11 April 2008 (UTC)
