[edit] Blocked

Because of your repeated uploading of images without proper source information and you ignoring warnings posted here, I have blocked you for 36 hours. Feel free to contribute constructively after the block expires. Blood Red Sandman (Talk) (Contribs) 07:17, 29 January 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Images

Hello,

The images need information on their source. They also need images on their copyright status, as they must be freely liscenced. You cannot upload copyrighted images, such as images found on websites. Very rarely, there are situations where non-free images can be used, but tha doesn't include things like a person. That's why album covers are allowed. The same goes for text: it can't be copied in from another website, as that is illegal. I hope this clarifies things for you. There is also an overview on images at Wikipedia:Image use policy. [edit] Fair use rationale for Image:Vigor-Mortis.jpg

Thanks for uploading or contributing to Image:Vigor-Mortis.jpg. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is not a suitable explanation or rationale as to why each specific use in Wikipedia constitutes fair use. Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale.

If you have uploaded other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on those pages too. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any non-free media lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. NOTE: once you correct this, please remove the tag from the image's page. [edit] Your recent edits

Hi there. In case you didn't know, when you add content to talk pages and Wikipedia pages that have open discussion, you should sign your posts by typing four tildes ( ~~~~ ) at the end of your comment. If you can't type the tilde character, you should click on the signature button Image:Signature_icon.png located above the edit window. This will automatically insert a signature with your name and the time you posted the comment. This information is useful because other editors will be able to tell who said what, and when. Thank you! --SineBot (talk) 08:49, 7 March 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Re: Hello

Hey there! Most changes should be justified with a reference. So, while we may think a song or album is symphonic, gothic, epic or power, if it is not referenced it cannot be changed. We use the rationale that, if a band is power metal, the songs they release are power metal by default (otherwise they would belong to another genre). If a band is power metal but a song is a ballad, it may raise some suspicions so it should be referenced. Nightwish is considered a symphonic metal band by the media, therefore the songs they release are symphonic metal and a change for gothic or power should be referenced.

As for the notebook, I am not sure what you are referring. You can just copy/paste my pages and change them accordingly, but unless you explain, I am not sure what you are talking about. -- ReyBrujo (talk) 18:33, 9 March 2008 (UTC)

[edit] AfD nomination of Deathlike Silence (band)

An editor has nominated Deathlike Silence (band), an article on which you have worked or that you created, for deletion. We appreciate your contributions, but the nominator doesn't believe that the article satisfies Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion and has explained why in his/her nomination (see also "What Wikipedia is not").

Your opinions on whether the article meets inclusion criteria and what should be done with the article are welcome; please participate in the discussion by adding your comments at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Deathlike Silence (band) and please be sure to sign your comments with four tildes (~~~~).

You may also edit the article during the discussion to improve it but should not remove the articles for deletion template from the top of the article; such removal will not end the deletion debate. Thank you. BJBot (talk) 21:00, 24 March 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Hello

Hi I'm sitting here at my boarding school for troubled teens.I have nothing to do and noticed that you are a fan of Nightwish. So my question is who do you like better: Anette or Tarja? Mr.Green (talk) 16:24, 2 April 2008 (UTC)

Yea she's good but she needs to do her own songs. She kind of ruins the songs that were written for Tarja. But, in her own way she is pretty good. That's all, thanks :) Mr. Greenchat 15:24, 21 April 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Orphaned non-free media (Image:Vigor-Mortis.jpg)

Thanks for uploading Image:Vigor-Mortis.jpg. The media description page currently specifies that it is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, it is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the media was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that media for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that all non-free media not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. BJBot (talk) 12:25, 3 April 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Template:Infobox Music genre

Hi.

Why the reversion, with no edit summary (at least)?
Also, please note that the reversion may've reversed the color/bgcolor settings on many instances of the template. Sardanaphalus (talk) 18:07, 10 April 2008 (UTC)

Well, the version before you edit is the default for infoboxes. If you have a good reason, please tell me.--Nazzzz (talk) 19:28, 10 April 2008 (UTC)
  • Thanks for your reply. Have you investigated {{Infobox}} (for infoboxes as {{Navbox}} is for navboxes) and seen how it's used? Sardanaphalus (talk) 20:10, 10 April 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Evanescence genres

Please stop changing the genres on Evanescence and related articles. If you wish to discuss this matter, please see Talk:Evanescence for the ongoing discussion. For the time being, we are leaving it as "Alternative rock", as this is a basic description of Evanescence's style. Huntster (t@c) 20:09, 13 April 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Nightwish genres

Please stop editing the genres on various Nightwish articles...they are not pop rock; do you know what pop rock is? Their overall style is symphonic power metal, so leave it as "symphonic metal" and "power metal" on their articles. And "dance music" in Bye Bye Beautiful? My friend I think you need to grasp a better understanding of musical genres. Just because a heavy metal song may have dance music elements doesn't make it a Symphonic metal/dance song....heard of Rammstein? Like I said, leave the genres alone to their appropiate overarching style and stop putting every single influence in Nightwish's (and Evanescence's it seems) genre lists. Also, you MUST discuss with other users before you edit and reach a consensus. Seriphyn (talk) 12:34, 16 April 2008 (UTC)

[edit] An Important Note

You've posted on your talk page more than once, so I know you are aware it exists. As such, I must believe you are also aware that you have accumulated no less than six warnings and negative notices for the month of April alone--and April is only half over! You have also repeated edits after being asked not to without properly discussing the edits on the article talk pages (particularly regarding musical genres), and have repeatedly uploaded images without the proper copyright/licensing/fair use information, even going so far as to upload the same images more than once.

The warnings and notes on your talk page exist for a reason; it is very important that you read them and don't just ignore them. While Wikipedia does encourage its users to Be Bold, you must also be willing to work with other editors to cooperate to improve the site. Many of the edits you've made recently, such as repeatedly changing/adding to genres or uploading images without the required information, border on vandalism--and some can be considered outright vandalism at this point!

Please make sure you read both your own talk page and the talk pages of the articles you're interested in editing, as well as the notes embedded in the article coding itself (shown in <!--- this is an editing note ---> tags), and please do not ignore your fellow editors. Continuing to do so may ultimately get you blocked from editing entirely. --HamatoKameko (talk) 17:11, 16 April 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Unspecified source for Image:Punaiset_messiaat.jpg

Thanks for uploading Image:Punaiset_messiaat.jpg. I noticed that the file's description page currently doesn't specify who created the content, so the copyright status is unclear. If you did not create this file yourself, then you will need to specify the owner of the copyright. If you obtained it from a website, then a link to the website from which it was taken, together with a restatement of that website's terms of use of its content, is usually sufficient information. However, if the copyright holder is different from the website's publisher, then their copyright should also be acknowledged.

As well as adding the source, please add a proper copyright licensing tag if the file doesn't have one already. If you created/took the picture, audio, or video then the {{GFDL-self}} tag can be used to release it under the GFDL. If you believe the media meets the criteria at Wikipedia:Fair use, use a tag such as {{non-free fair use in|article name}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:Image copyright tags#Fair use. See Wikipedia:Image copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.

If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have specified their source and tagged them, too. You can find a list of files you have uploaded by following this link. Unsourced and untagged images may be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If the image is copyrighted under a non-free license (per Wikipedia:Fair use) then the image will be deleted 48 hours after 01:51, 19 April 2008 (UTC). If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Do you want to opt out of receiving this notice? MECUtalk 01:51, 19 April 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Image copyright problem with Image:Dolchamar.jpg

Image Copyright problem

Hi Nazzzz!
We thank you for uploading Image:Dolchamar.jpg, but there is a problem. Your image is currently missing information on its copyright status. Wikipedia takes copyright very seriously. Unless you can help by adding a copyright tag, it may be deleted by an Administrator. If you know this information, then we urge you to add a copyright tag to the image description page. We apologize for this, but all images must confirm to policy on Wikipedia.

If you have any questions, please feel free to ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thanks so much for your cooperation.

[edit] April 2008

Please refrain from making unconstructive edits to Wikipedia, as you did to Atomic bombings of Hiroshima and Nagasaki. Your edits appeared to constitute vandalism and have been reverted. If you would like to experiment, please use the sandbox. Thank you. Binksternet (talk) 13:42, 27 April 2008 (UTC)

What looked at first to me like vandalism is clearly meant to help scroll through references. I don't think this helps the article. I would rather scroll the whole page using my browser and operating system. Binksternet (talk) 13:48, 27 April 2008 (UTC)
