Nazaré da Mata

Nazaré da Mata is a city located in the state of Pernambuco, Brazil. Only 65 km separates Nazaré da Mata from Recife, capital of the state of Pernambuco. With a population around 35.000 people it is well known as the town of maracatu rural (terra do maracatu rural, in Portuguese) and its "engenhos de cana-de-açúcar" (sugar cane plantations). It is the seat of the Roman Catholic Diocese of Nazaré.
