"Nayib’s Song (I Am Here for You)" is a song by American singer and songwriter Gloria Estefan from her 1991 solo album Into the Light. It was released as a single in Europe.
[edit] Song History
This song is dedicated to Gloria’s son, Nayib Estefan. Nayib was only nine years old when his mother was critically injured in a coach accident, hence the writing of the song.
The song gained little airplay, perhaps due to its childlike sound - it has since been included on lullaby CDs. Later, Gloria would did another tribute to her children, that time, to her daughter Emily, with the song "Along Came You (A Song for Emily)".
