- To add an article to a category, simply add to the article. It will be automatically listed in the category then. So, to add colleges to Category:Universities and colleges in Kerala, first see if articles for the college you are going to add exists. If yes, then edit that article and add to it. If the article on the college does not exist, then create it and then add the category as in the previous case. Hope this helps. You can know more about categories at Help:Category. If you have any questions, please drop them on my talk page. --thunderboltz(TALK) 14:42, 15 May 2007 (UTC)

- I think most of the institutions listed under the Kollam subheading here [3] are mere hospitals and only some of them conduct courses in Nursing. And some others just hospitals. So why would you want to categorise them as educational institutions?--Jisha (Talk) 15:49, 16 May 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Categories
I guess you already figured out, since you created Category:Medical colleges in Kerala. To add an article to Category:Engineering colleges in Kerala, you have to just add to that article. utcursch | talk 15:41, 15 May 2007 (UTC)
[edit] RE : Technocity - page creation
Hi Naveen, I feel that there is no need of a seperate article upon Technocity now, as the project is on its initial stages. Moreover, there is enough quoting about it on the Technopark article.
Btw, don't forget to place your comments in talk pages, under appropriate headings which is preceeded and succeeded by two equal signs : ==

[edit] Kerala Roads
Naveen, I noticed your message to Utcursch. You can do this yourself by clicking the Move tab on the article. An administrator help is needed if the target page already exists. In this case Roads in Kerala does not exist. So it is a simple move operation. See WP:MOVE. Also, you can sign yourself on talk pages by entering ~~~~. [edit] Re: pease have article on thrissur medical college
- Yes i was thinking on that. I was sad to see that GMC Thrissur don't have a wikipage. Will do add a page on GMC Thrissur.
- I have some doubts. How to cites references in a wikipage? that how to add those small [1] or [2] used by people here after a sentence. Binoj Mathew 16:04, 29 June 2007 (UTC)

[edit] GMC Thrissur
- hi :) I have made an article on Government Medical College, Thrissur. Pls do tell me ur suggestions. Binoj Mathew 04:22, 30 June 2007 (UTC)
- Thanks, why i didn't flood that page with lots of info because a valid source in internet dealing with it is rare. Still i have a added few info today without sources coz its practically impossible to find sources for every point. Many of the points may be known only to students, like college magazines, campus details etc Binoj Mathew 04:22, 30 June 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Kerala road map
Hi Naveenpf. Im not taking requests for such maps right now since i dont have the time. However since the data is already available in svg format, you can import my map and make derievative works the way you want quite easily. Please download inkscape and try to learn making maps. It really is impossible for me to do each and every map for each state -- PlaneMad|YakYak 18:53, 1 July 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Malayalee
Hello,
There's a problem in the Malayalee article. The points of contention are the following:
- Dayaanjali doesn't want the article to mention that marumakkathayam (matrilineality/matrifocality) were practiced by the Nairs. i.e., as a community, Nairs were known to be matrifocal/matrilineal, and a martial class.
- Dayaanjali insists the the words "Malayali" comes from the Malayalam words Malai and Aali. Historically, the region has been known as Malayalam before the genesis of the Malayalam language. Hence, the words probably originated from old Tamil. He also seems to think that Malayalam originated independently of Tamil, whereas (facts aside) all linguists state that Malayalam split off from Tamil about 800 AD or 900 AD.
Since you are active in Kerala-related articles, I request you to take a look at this matter. Dayaanjali seems unwilling to discuss changes in the talk page. Initially we had a discussion. I provided references to support my points. After this, he has refused to discuss the points, claiming that my edits are "unverified". The discussion is here. --vi5in[talk] 06:42, 5 October 2007 (UTC)

- Hi I firmly believe that Malayalam developed independently having more influence from Tamil. Having said that, the language has similarities with other languages in south india. It has loaned words from sanskrit and many foriegn languages. Its grammatic styles are similar to Tamil. Script is more similar to Tulu Script. Even then You cannot call it new language. The people of malabar cost was using languague which was different from Tamil even during Sangam period, though part of same kingdoms as that of present day Tamil Nadu. The people are different, the culture is different, the script is different. The words Mala and ali are there in many languages in south india and foreign languages like Sinhala, Thai etc. Its not known where the words come any paryicular language. And about customs of Nair cast, its not specific to nairs. More than that this is not the article that you can list out all the customs and tradition of aparticular community. You have a separate article where you can add details.

[edit] IIEST
Dear friend The title given as Indian Institute of Engineering, Science and Technology is misleading the exact title is Indian

. A coma can change the meaning. Remember a “Coma can kill a person”. Then as the president of CUSAT’s research Scholar’s Association, the only official forum for scholar’s of CUSAT, I have studied various documents related to IIEST including Anathakrishnan commission report. That is why I took a decision to add some facts about IIEST. Then I know what a blog is. That is why I used the word “controversy “ with the title. May be the content provoked you.I think you are quite aware about the democracy in wikipedia.

[edit] Your suggestion - Kerala High Court
Hi Naveen,
Thanks for your suggestion. It can make the article more readable and exhaustive. I'd try doing it, shortly. In the meanwhile, I'd be much obliged if you can do it... Nice to know that you are from Thrissur too.

[edit] Template:National Institutes of Technology
Could you explain why you undid my edit to Template:National Institutes of Technology? Styles are not recommended as to maintain consistency among templates and pages in Wikipedia. --Geniac (talk) 14:25, 18 December 2007 (UTC)
- It's not a regulation (policy?), but Wikipedia:Navigational templates points to Template:Navbox for consistent formatting of navigational templates, so I convert a few over whenever I have the time and inclination. Template:Navbox/doc#Styles (NOT RECOMMENDED) says the same. --Geniac (talk) 13:46, 19 December 2007 (UTC)
[edit] Template: Universities
Hi Naveen, probably it won't be a good idea to add institutes other than Universities in the template. There are templates available for institutes like NITs, IITs. Probably we may need other templates to accomodate other institutes. En.Dev (talk) 16:13, 28 December 2007 (UTC)
[edit] Little context in Kannur International Airport
Hello, this is a message from an automated bot. A tag has been placed on Kannur International Airport, by another Wikipedia user, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. [edit] state highways of kerala
There is a difficulty in obtaining correct and up to date information. Kerala PWD website seems to be out of date as it shows some roads as part of state highways whereas they have been included in national highways. Even maps seem to be inaccurate. If I come across some authentic source then only I would like to edit the article. I came across the problem when I tried to create a Malayalam edition of the page --K N Unni (talk) 16:28, 9 February 2008 (UTC)
