Can someone add navbox collapsible and the v • d • e to this template? Jerm 20:37, 29 April 2007 (UTC)

N Not done. This change will require a complete rewrite of the template, as it isn't compatible with the template's current coding (and the vde is less useful in full-protected templates as they can't be edited anyway), so it's too hard to do without new coding and a proper test. If you could provide a new coding for the template and test it (userspace is a good place for this), the change would be reasonable. --ais523 08:50, 30 April 2007 (UTC)
The VDE wouldn't point here, it would point to wherever the specific instantiation of this template is defined. Personally, though, I'd suggest just converting over to one of the existing generic navbox templates and perhaps use templates for the styles to keep them consistent. There's no need to reinvent the wheel. Bryan Derksen 05:21, 14 July 2007 (UTC)
Y done. The only change for the end users is that now the "Name" parameter is required, to allow the v/d/e links to find the template's page properly. This is quite easy to add, though; I've updated all the existing templates and added a blank template to the documentation for copy and paste that has a subst: tag in it that will fill in Name automatically. As an added bonus, the template now has a show/hide link. Since a lot of these templates get used on very navbox-heavy pages this will save a bit of space. Bryan Derksen 20:04, 19 August 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Convert to navbox from navbox generic

{{edit protected}} I'm requesting that this template be converted from the {{Navbox generic}} form to the {{Navbox}} form. All that needs to be done is to delete the word "generic" in the first line; all of the parameters are exactly the same. The Navbox is the new standard base navigational template. --CapitalR 05:01, 9 September 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Below parameter

{{editprotected}} Can the 'below' parameter be added to this template? An example would be for use in the Template:Big Ten Conference as a place to put the 'Big Ten Network' instead of abusing the line breaks. -Gwguffey (talk) 21:19, 25 January 2008 (UTC)

As a random person responding to editprotected requests, I don't know what the "below" parameter is, what it should do, or what code you would like to have inserted in the template. The best way to make editprotected requests is to have the proposed code ready. If you need help, there are volunteers at Wikipedia:Template requests who can help. — Carl (CBM · talk) 19:44, 27 January 2008 (UTC)
Got it. 'below' is parameter handled by 'Template:Navbox' which this template is a member of. Can this template be edited to allow the acceptance of this parameter, also? Here's the line would need to be added:
|below = {{{below}}}
