"The BRAC commission, overstepping its charter and showing a complete disreguard for budgetary sensibility," Neutrality, neutrality. I'm unsure how to reput this, but it should be fixed.

I'm removing it. Even the addition of "it is alleged" doesn't make it NPOV. Alleged by whom? An angry wikipedian who is stationed there? Unless someone can find a verifiable source for that allegation, it should stay out of the article. Kafziel 14:33, 28 December 2005 (UTC)

[edit] Link the Pukin Dogs

There is an article for VF-143 (now VFA-143) on wikipedia. Please link to it! Thanks.

Done. Kafziel 16:43, 22 May 2006 (UTC)

Only one Tomcat squadron left... the Blacklions are now officially VFA-213

Should also differentiate between the JV Hornet and Super Hornet squadrons

F/A-18C: VFA-15, -34, -37, -81, -83 (Rampagers), -87, -131, -136, VFC-12 F/A-18E: VFA-105, -143 F/A-18F: VFA-11, -32, -103, -211, -213

VF-31 will transition to VFA-31 in the -18E later this year.

[edit] FYI

Just got word today (from a LCDR and Hornet pilot on shore duty) he believes NAS Oceana will be shut down in the next 5-7 years because Virginia Beach, VA citizens complain too much about the noise. He suspects the Navy will move to Cherry point and the Prowlers and Harriers there will move to MCAS Beaufort. That is the most likely scenario. Conjecture none the less but good information. --ProdigySportsman 03:17, 17 February 2007 (UTC)

BTW, in 5-7 years the Prowlers will probably not be around and the Harriers will be starting to phase out as F-35 comes online. --ProdigySportsman 04:29, 9 March 2007 (UTC)

This has been an ongoing story since the BRAC commission report. The city is working the issue. Appears the citizens around Cecil aren't backing the BRAC decision and politicians are backing off. Although, Cherry Point and even a Texas option have been proposed, the City of Virginia Beach is working the issue. The complainers are not the majority and actually few in number. The number of complainers is larger than you think. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 70.168.221.111 (talk) 18:37, 31 October 2007 (UTC)
