Navy Children School, Mumbai
(formerly known as Naval Public School Mumbai) was founded in 1984, and run by the Indian Navy as part of the chain of Navy Children School throughout India.
Its main building is now located within Navy Nagar, in the Southern most part of Mumbai, though original building(now used by the Navy for other purposes) was located in colaba.
The school provides primary, secondary, and senior secondary education and follows a syllabus set by the Central Board of Secondary Education. Naval Public School,as it was formerly known, shot to fame in the early 1990's with emphatic wins in the MSSA Football competitions, the first team from South Mumbai to do so. Over the years,NPS won several football trophies.[citation needed] But recent years however, the team seemed to have faded into oblivion, only to comeback and win the Nike Football competition in the 2nd division.
