Navios Maritime Holdings, Inc. is a public Piraeus, Greece-based maritime shipping company that owns and operates a fleet dry bulk cargo carriers and trades on the NYSE market under the ticker "NM". As of December 31, 2005, Navios' fleet included 10 Ultra-Handymax, and 6 Panamax size ships, all of which it charters out for ocean trade.
The company was initially created through the merge of Nautilus Maritime Holdings, Inc. and a business acquisition company formed by Greek shipping heiress Angeliki Frangou with capital raised through an IPO.
