The Navesink Light Station, also known as the Twin Lights of Navesink, is located in the town of Highlands, New Jersey. It's distinctive two non-uniform towers helped guide ships into New York Harbor until 1949. The current building, built in 1862, replaced an earlier lighthouse that had been built in 1828[2]
This was the first American lighthouse to test a Fresnel lens and was also the site of a demonstration by Marconi of the wireless telegraph in 1899.[3] A bi-valve fresnel lens is on display in the museum.[4]
