Navashino

Navashino (Russian: Навашино) is a town in Nizhny Novgorod Oblast, Russia, located on the right bank of the Oka River, 158 km southwest of Nizhny Novgorod. Population: 17,810 (2002 Census); 18,946 (1989 Census).
It was founded in 1957 by merging two neighboring settlements of Mordovshchikovo (Мордовщиково) and Lipnya (Липня) and named after the nearby railway station of Navashino.
