Naval Strike Wing

The Naval Strike Wing is a unit of the Fleet Air Arm. It was formed on 9th March 2007 (following the re-forming of 801 NAS on 9 March 2007, and of 800 NAS in 2006). It includes elements of 801 and 800 squadrons, amalgamated into a single operational squadron for deployment either on operations or aboard the Royal Navy's single available aircraft carrier (currently HMS Illustrious)[1].
