Nauset Regional High School is an NEASC accredited High School located in Eastham, Massachusetts. The only high school on the east coast located within a national park (Cape Cod National Seashore), the open campus is situated about a half-mile from Nauset Light Beach. There are about 1100 students and 80 faculty members. The school consists of 7 main buildings (A-G, and the newest building, N). The school is named after a small Native American tribe that lived in the area before it was settled by colonists. Nauset High school serves students from the towns of Brewster, Orleans, Eastham, Wellfleet and Truro. Students residing in Provincetown have the option of attending either Nauset High or Provincetown High. Nauset's mascot is the Warriors and the schools colors are Black and Gold.
Recently, the Nauset School Committee voted to get rid of the Native American logo representing the "Warrior" but will keep the name "Warrior" as the official mascot.
Many erroneously believe that Nauset invented the sport of "Nausetball." In fact, "Nausetball" is simply another title for a game more commonly known as Speedball. It thrived during the mid to late nineties under the instruction of fabled teacher, coach, and mentor Paul White, but was removed from P.E. curriculum in 2007.
