Nauset Light Beach in Eastham, Massachusetts on Cape Cod is a stunningly beautiful beach that is a portal into pure nature. The dunes and coastline evolve, shift and erode constantly. Due to these changes, the Lighthouse itself was moved inland, in November of 1996 to prevent it from being lost to the sea. It should not be confused with Nauset Beach which is in the town of Orleans, a bit to the south. Both are named for the Nauset Indians, who lived there in Colonial times.
Nauset Light Beach is a popular surfing break, which also changes from year to year. As of the beginning of the summer of 2008, it is breaking very well to the left and things look promising for the season.
