[edit] Barnstar brigading
Since some awards, like the DYK medal, and the janitor mop and bucket, don't have ribbons for them, I've created Template:Ribbon2, which allows brigaders to use other images that are under 120px (which is a problem with Template:Ribbon). The template works the same but you input the size in px. I'm opting to use Image:Tournesol.png, it's just cuter!, but you can use any image you want. Enjoy pimping your ribbons, and harmonious editing, Highway Return to Oz... 15:57, 31 July 2006 (UTC)

This is why I don't like the search engine. XD I feel like running back the newbie I was "discussing" policy with, and was made at me because I reverted his edit, when I could have just altered the summmary. [edit] Consult on "circa"
Hello. I would value your opinion on my strategy for cleaning up the disambiguation for circa. It looks like most of the links are coming from date references. My 1st choice would be to change circa so that it is only about this usage and then create circa (disambiguation) to disambiguate the other entries. The new circa entry would look similar to floruit in appearance and style. --Brian G 12:44, 6 August 2006 (UTC)
- Thanks for your response. I have make the change to circa and created the new disambiguation. I think that it is "encyclopedic enough " as I have written it, but would appreciate any additional changes/feedback that you would provide. I'm off now to correct any links that were pointed to circa that need to be moved to the other articles. --Brian G 20:46, 6 August 2006 (UTC)
- I saw the changes you made. Thanks for cleaning them up. I'll know better next time. --Brian G 21:35, 6 August 2006 (UTC)

[edit] MEDCAB - Democracy dab page
Hi Natalya. Just a quick note that I've decided to take my debut case, if you would still like to provide a statement. Thanks, Blnguyen | rant-line 02:20, 10 August 2006 (UTC)
- Surely it cannot be worse than the personal attacks, allegations stalking, harassment etc on the Indian religion stuff that has been debated on my page in the last 2.5 days - everything below User_talk:Blnguyen#bhaisaab.27s_comment_on_my_talk_page. (about 90 messages). I think that most MEDCAB cases can be resolved easily (I've seen two cases the inclusion of external links and there were only a total of 10 or so posts involved), and I was quite surprised that someone suggested arbitration because most arbitration cases involve heated full-scale revert-warring and often 75+ exchanges of messages per day....Well, I'm not too scared of getting involved these days...as I don't seem to have a good record....as User:Blnguyen#Accusations suggests. Blnguyen | rant-line 03:02, 10 August 2006 (UTC)
Per Bruce's comments on the talk page of the case, is this over? If so, three things have sort of died down together rather conveniently. Thanks, Blnguyen | rant-line 01:48, 14 August 2006 (UTC)

- I want to confess. I accidentally edit Templates:Life In India :( :( :( I'm a bad person!! Do you think I should ask an apology to fellow Indian? Do you know who can I talk to? Ah btw, I've fixed it, but still... Thanks -- Imoeng 00:01, 11 August 2006 (UTC)

[edit] 3RR
I see that I've been blocked due to 3RR violation. However I believe to be misjudged and inaccordingly punished by you. Here is the copy of the case from Admisirators' noticeboard:
[edit] User:Kertenkelebek reported by User:TigranTheGreat (Result: 24h)
Three revert rule violation on . Kertenkelebek (talk · contribs · deleted contribs · logs · block user · block log):
- Previous versions reverted to, if applicable: Prior versions are given individually in the description of each revert.
- 1st revert: 07:21, 10 August 2006 (reversion to 09:16, 5 August 2006)
- 2nd revert: 08:00, 10 August 2006 (reversion to 07:21, 10 August 2006)
- 3rd revert: 09:05, 10 August 2006 (reversion to 08:53, 10 August 2006)
- 4th revert: 09:14, 10 August 2006 (reversion to 09:05, 10 August 2006)
Please note that this user is fully aware of the 3RR rule, as he has been blocked before for 24 hours.
Time report made: 09:42, 10 August 2006 (UTC)
Comment: The user reverts other editors, removing a consensus version and introducing POV edits.
--TigranTheGreat 09:42, 10 August 2006 (UTC)
This user has now made a total of 7, that's right 7 reverts today on that page!--Eupator 17:00, 10 August 2006 (UTC)
Blocked for 24h. -- Natalya 22:06, 10 August 2006 (UTC)
The case is that the versions of "09:16, 5 August 2006" and "07:21, 10 August 2006" are different from the versions of "08:53, 10 August 2006" and "09:05, 10 August 2006" in my contributions regarding the discussion held in the talk page. The discussion has been considered and relevant changes as well as additional information were introduced by myself. However I was continously been vandalised (see: Blanking:Removing all or significant parts of articles is a common vandal edit) by users TigranTheGreat and Eupator by means of removal of my cited contributions with no proper reason, although their views have also been considered and relevant changes have been made according to the discussion held. I continued to assume their good faith and asked them to "...Feel free to make any changes about the points that are seen to be biased or POV rather than reverting the whole article at once." and even opened a discussion section though they have shown no interest at all. If you examine the page you'll see that there's no single addittion to the page by these users rather than deleting (by means of reverting) my cited contributions over and over again.
Possible Three revert rule violation on . TigranTheGreat (talk · contribs · deleted contribs · logs · block user · block log):
- 1st revert: 08:31, 10 August 2006 (reversion to 07:28, 10 August 2006)
- 2nd revert: 09:02, 10 August 2006 (reversion to 07:28, 10 August 2006)
- 3rd revert: 09:12, 10 August 2006 (reversion to 07:28, 10 August 2006)
Possible Three revert rule violation on . Eupator (talk · contribs · deleted contribs · logs · block user · block log):
- 1st revert: 14:14, 10 August 2006 (reversion to 07:28, 10 August 2006)
- 2nd revert: 15:52, 10 August 2006 (reversion to 15:17, 10 August 2006)
Comment: Though seems to be a different version everything is exactly the same except for one sentence, which was added by an unsigned user 24.75.116.160 (again an Armenian IP) not by Eupator himself.
- 3rd revert: 16:19, 10 August 2006 (reversion to 15:17, 10 August 2006)
However they're smart enough to work in pair so nobody violates any rule. Although; so didn't I! I'm the one who's contributing to Wikipedia with proper resources and showing effort, they're the ones repetingly trying to prevent my efforts just because the facts don't fit their political view yet still I'm the one being punished!. I kindly request from you to re-examine the situation more in detail to see things more clearly. I've never deleted anyone's contributions from the article by means of reverting just because I don't like tha facts, however revised my own edits in the light of the discussion several times. In spite of these revisions and my request of making re-edits from other users rather than complete reverts my work has been prevented by other users of which I can no longer assume their good faith. I can guess that you can be quite busy (both in real life and Wikipedia) and feel sorry to bother you with such unimportant things but I just can't stand any unfair moves taken against me. Thanks for saving time for reading all these as well as your assumed efforts on re-examining this situation in the light of these facts. KertenkelebekⓉ 08:11, 12 August 2006 (UTC)
- First of all please accept my thanks in saving your time to re-examine the situation. However I feel sorry to see the most important aspect passed unnoticed upon your statement that: "Hopefully next time it seems like an edit war is looming, you will take things to the talk page to discuss them first. That is always, always the best solution"; which was exactly what I did! I revised my edit several times in the light of the discussion held however been vandalised (blanking vandalism) by these 2 users TigranTheGreat and Eupator, who have shown themselves to be extremist Armenian propagandists several times elsewhere, which left me no other option to revert their actions (which can be classified as simple vandalism) in order to protect and preserve my contributions. You may not be familiar with the topic, thus let me explain that the article is about an Armenian "militant" group (which has been recognized as terrorist by all of the modern world today) of which these users are in attempt of hiding their killings. Their real motive was to delete the list of murdered Turkish diplomats from the article which had never been a matter of dispute after a copyright problem has been fixed. The reverts, which they claimed to have made in the sake of fixing the disputed part of the article, somehow included the tabular chronology of the assasinated Turkish diplomats each and every time, which was their primary objective to prevent from being added into Wikipedia. Otherwise their reverts could have been made partially, including only the disputed part, which to be fixed if seemed wrong rather than reverted, instead of a full scale revert, which prevented me from asuming further good faith of theirs at last. While I was continuosly revising my edit in the light of the discussion being held TigranTheGreat and Eupator insisted on their mistake by removing (not fixing) cited contributions (in addition to the disputed part) from the article wih no proper reasoning though they have been warned. I am well aware about the rules of this community, well enough to analyse and understand why those rules are there for to protect and I am absolutely sure that my reverts were justified unlike the action taken against me. I would have done exactly the same thing, given the identical circumstances for any time. However I feel sorry to announce that I will refrain from making any single contribution to Wikipedia until any trace of punishment impeded on my account due to this case be undone and these 2 extremist users be warned by stricter means so that they won't repeat their vandalism ever again (just as a reminder fron the official Wiki policy: WP:3RR does not imply that reverting three times or fewer is acceptable. In excessive cases, people can be blocked for edit warring or disruption even if they do not revert more than three times per day.). It is impossible for this community to step forward as long as extremist vandals are just skipped with a simple warning whereas the real contributors are being punished. Thanks again for your concerns. KertenkelebekⓉ 18:19, 14 August 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Wizard fix
Yes! Thank you! I didn't think the dab links were correct, but I wasn't sure how it all worked. BTW, I love your user page, great photos and your "free assocation" section is wonderful! Dreadlocke ☥ 23:03, 12 August 2006 (UTC)
- If you don't mind another question, I was wondering about a section in that same article. The section Wizard (fantasy)#Wise Old Man is just a direct word-for-word copy of the so-called "main" article Wise old man. Two questions, is that a proper "main article" linkage, and should it be just a direct copy like that? Thanks! Dreadlocke ☥ 23:09, 12 August 2006 (UTC)

It's one thing to be reverted, but quite another to have it happen so quickly and unilaterally. See what you think about it.
This may also be useful: a page on readability on the WWW. So much of WP is dull, dull gray.

[edit] Thanks for nominating my userpage
Hi there, thanks for nominating my userpage for the Esperanza userpage award, but really, the credit should go to Sango123 for designing it. All I did was come up with the basic layout of some of the boxes (userbox area, useful links, etc.). In any case, thanks! --Tachikoma 21:36, 13 August 2006 (UTC)
- In case you are interested, this is the basic foundation on which Sango123 designed my current userpage. Note that this was before I added the Esperanza member banner, and before I added and then deleted the illness template. Oh yeah, I also picked the general colour scheme. I love purple in all its shades. --Tachikoma 22:04, 13 August 2006 (UTC)
[edit] ASALA
Dear Natalya
Thank you for the warning. I am aware that I reverted User:Kertenkelebek on the ASALA page 3 times. It was, however, a last resort, and I tried to discuss it on the talk page. Contrary to User:Kertenkelebek's statements, he initiated the revert war on August 3 [1], by replacing an already existing version of the article with his own, without discussion. His edits were (rightly so) reverted by User:Clevelander, User:Khoikhoi (as history of the page will clearly show), and it was clear that the user was disregarding long history of prior edits in order to install his version. I only reverted him when this became apparent, and there was no other recourse left. We will still continue to try to resolve the issue through discussion, as much as it is possible. Thank you.--TigranTheGreat 00:44, 14 August 2006 (UTC) Ditto. I should also mention that most of his new additions that were reverted by us, as well as two additional users were a far cry from being NPOV and possibly a copyright violation since some of the material and the list was pasted verbatim from a propaganda web site.--Eupator 00:54, 14 August 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Re: Dealing with autoblocks
Hi Natalya, I hope this answer explains things adequately. :) Say, for instance, you want to find autoblocks stemming from your block on User:Vvikipedia. You would enter the information like this; if there are any unexpired ones, click the autoblock ID (e.g. #214091) and type something like "override autoblock" as the unblocking reason. An example from the logs:
- 03:45, 18 August 2006 Sango123 (Talk | contribs | block) unblocked #230119 (override autoblock)
If the autoblocks are crossed out, as they all are with Vvikipedia, that means they've expired and are no longer in effect. Autoblocks also show up in Special:Ipblocklist, as depicted in this screenshot. Of course, the affected users need to include the IP address or username reported in the block text when contacting an admin, as no one can help them if the source causing the autoblock is not known. Well, I think that's it. Feel free to complain if you want anything clarified. ;) Regards, Sango123 23:50, 18 August 2006 (UTC)
- Glad to be of help. :) I usually don't check for autoblocks unless I issued an iffy username block or unless someone requests to be unblocked due to collateral damage. Don't worry about giving vandals access back; autoblocks expire after 24 hours anyway, and we can always block them again. ;) Keep up the great work! Sango123 00:36, 19 August 2006 (UTC)
