Hi, Jeremy!
Thank you soooo much for the link to info on the web server! I really appreciate it. To be very honest, I wasn't expecting a reply so soon! :D I'm definitely staying here, mate. No doubt about that. [edit] Re: Vandalism
Hey again. Wikipedia's always getting vandalism. It's been happening from the word Go. (or from the command /etc/init.d/httpd start, but I digress.) All the vandalism isn't caused by one person. It's caused by thousands of people doing small changes either with malicious or simply experimental intents. Wikipedia's worst vandal probably would have to be Willy on Wheels, who "moved" thousands of articles to a new title with an "ON WHEELS!!!" or something similar on the end. You can read more about the vandalism, and how you can help out, at Wikipedia:Vandalism. Cheers, — JeremyTalk 03:38, 31 October 2006 (UTC)

I've decided that I'm going to start writng books reviews on here. I've plenty of free time on my hands as we speak and so I'm happy to review any books I read.
[edit] Rose Madder by Stephen King
Hi, everyone!
Lately I've been reading Rose Madder by Stephen King and so far I'm shocked by what he's written. I know he's known for his horror stories and so I was looking forward to reading Rose Madder. However, I was very shocked when I started reading about Norman, (do a search on Rose Madder if you want to know what the story's about) Rose's abusive husband, and what he did to people like poor Peter Slowik (he bit the guy to death) and the homeless guy he interrogated and sexually assaulted (I'm not sure if I want to go into details about that). I was mortified! I couldn't believe that Mr King had written that. I never realized he wrote things like that in his stories. Now, let's keep in mind that this is the first time I've ever read a book by Stephen King and so I don't claim to be an expert in his style of writing. However, I know a few people who've read his books and when I told them about this, they were also quite surprised. None of them had known Stephen King to write anything like that.
But, apart from those shocking moments, the story is quite intriguing. I haven't finished reading it yet but I'll let you know what I think when I'm finished. Even with the shocking moments, I'm still unable to put the book down!
Yours faithfully,

Update to Rose Madder:
I've taken longer to get on here to finish the review so I apologize to my readers (if I have any). I have come to realize what a graphic writerStephen King really is! He's a brilliant writer but MY GOD he's graphic!!!
However, apart from the graphic nature of the story, Rose Madder was an excellent book which really emphasizes domestic violence very, very extensively. It does this to the point of ludacrisy, but that's not a bad thing. It gets the message across to the audience how severe domestic violence can be. However, this story cannot be mistaken for a true story. It has its fantasy elements, which I might add is becoming increasingly popular in the youths of today. I should know, being one myself.
All in all, the story was a very ... um ... what's the word for it? I suppose you could say ... controversial. Yes! That's what it is! Controversial! It's also a story that is definitely NOT for the faint hearted. If you plan on reading this story, be warned: It goes into a lot of detail about what this man does to some people and it can be very disturbing if you're not used to his style of writing or haven't read any of his other books before.

[edit] Happy Australia Day!
It's a sweltering hot summer's day and January 26th, Australia Day has crept up on us again! Whether you're in Perth watching the Lottery West Skyworks or at a BBQ in the backyard of a friend's house, I implore you to enjoy yourselves and have fun. Just be considerate of other people and think (and drink) responsibly. You're un-Australian if you don't. So! Grab a beer, Throw a shrimp on the barbie and have a bloody good time! Australia Day only comes once a year, after all, mate!
[edit] The Mist
The Mist is one of the short stories from Stephen King's Skeleton Crew and is about a man and his boy who get trapped in a grocery store along with other customers when a deadly mist seeps through into their small town, killing all it consumes. I quite enjoyed this story's nature of keeping the reader in anticipation of what's going to happen next. The end of the story doesn't give any light on what happens to the characters that took the courage to escape the grocery store and venture out to see how far the mist expands. Stephen King leaves the end of the story to our own imagination, which adds to the anticipation.
Considering all of that, it was a very good story and was maybe less graphic than Rose Madder but that did not subtract to the quality of the story.
Rating: ****
Ps. I've heard recently that The Mist is going to become a movie but I'm not entirely sure if this is true or not. I'll keep my eyes peeled for all of you! :)
