I do not believe that this article should be merged with laparoscopic surgery. NOTES and laparoscopy are completely separate techniques. Granted, the article needs work, but this will be an increasingly important topic in surgery in the next few years and it definitely deserves its own article. Tulane97 18:38, 20 November 2006 (UTC)

I don't know if it's worth mentioning, but a transgastric appendicectomy was performed for the first time in Europe this week by a surgical team at Sahlgrenska University Hospital East. --Krm500 (talk) 12:50, 19 February 2008 (UTC)
