The result of the proposal was No consensus to move page at this time, per discussion below. There seems to be significant support for moving the article on January 1, 2008. -GTBacchus^(talk) 00:52, 24 November 2007 (UTC)

Busch Series → Nationwide Series — The last race of this circuit has been run under the Busch Series name, and thus the name change is now official to Nationwide Series. —AEMoreira042281 (talk) 13:39, 18 November 2007 (UTC)

Feel free to state your position on the renaming proposal by beginning a new line in this section with *'''Support''' or *'''Oppose''', then sign your comment with ~~~~. Since polling is not a substitute for discussion, please explain your reasons, taking into account Wikipedia's naming conventions.

• Support: Since the season is already over, then obviously we should at least change the article's name to the "Nationwide Series". We should change both the Busch and Nextel Cup logos and articles by Speedweeks. I agree with Sawblade that we should find an administrator to move the article, but not the redirects. If someone searches "Busch Series" they should come up with the Nationwide Series instead.

• Support: No reason why not. This could have been done easily if it weren't for the redirect already in place. --D-Day (talk) 14:33, 18 November 2007 (UTC)
• Support No reason not to. Someone might just want to find an admin who will delete the redirects per WP:CSD criterion G6. (seen at Template:Db-move) --Michael Greiner 01:38, 19 November 2007 (UTC)
  • Comment about redirect deletion I would not be too hasty about Deleting that Redirect as theres a ton of NASCAR articles that will still be linking to it and the Naming Convention Problems as the reference to Busch Series will still be around for a few more years after the official name change on the January 1st.     • I strongly oppose deleting the redirects. I frequently create redirects for cases just like this: old names for series need to exist so the less informed can find the real article. They are being used by retired drivers and people searching by the old names. Royalbroil 16:18, 20 November 2007 (UTC)

• Oppose until 1/1/08. This discussion should really be happening at WikiProject NASCAR since it affects all NASCAR articles. I linked a discussion that I started there to here. If the name officially changes on Jan. 1st then it should first be changed then. I initially wanted to do it now, but this discussion has changed my mind. We should plan how to implement all of these changes now at WikiProject NASCAR, since there are very many articles to change (WT:NASCAR#When_to_change_the_series_titles_from_NEXTEL_to_Sprint_and_Busch_to_Nationwide). • Oppose until after all 2007 season banquets and events are held: There are still events, but not races, to be run using the brand, namely Championship Week in New York City, and banquets for all of the series. --AEMoreira042281 (talk) 17:00, 20 November 2007 (UTC)
