"To liberate the South, we decided to advance. To defeat the American Empire," seems to be quite a succinct translation of Giải phóng miền Nam, which has 13 lines! I doubt the Vietnamese is that convoluted that 13 lines can be translated into 13 words!

[edit] Correct name of the song

This topic should be titled "Thanh Niên Hành Khúc", which is the correct name for the song, instead of "National anthem of South Vietnam". A similar topic is "Tiến Quân Ca", which is the current national anthem of Vietnam. Maybe we should redirected from "National anthem of South Vietnam" to "Thanh Niên Hành Khúc".
