Slambo, I'm curious why you moved the importance from 'mid' to 'low'. The criteria I've been using to rate importance is if a museum/operation is open/running, I give it 'mid'. If its closed/defunct, 'low'.

The New York Central Railroad Museum AFAIK is open on a regular schedule, so I'd give it 'mid'. n2xjk 15:41, 19 July 2007 (UTC)

My main criterion here is the museum's notoriety. There are quite a number of museums scattered across the country that have a few items of local significance, but only a few (like the California State Railroad Museum, B&O Railroad Museum or the National Railroad Museum, for example) are well known beyond their home states for their collections and preservation efforts. I wonder why you aliased it and changed the name to omit the "NATIONAL" After all "NATIONAL New York Central Railroad Museum" is it's proper name! Dp67 07:50, 14 August 2007 (UTC)

I hadn't noticed; looking at the page history, it appears that the article was created under "New York Central Railroad Museum" and hadn't been changed. I've moved the page to the correct name and made the updates. Slambo (Speak) 10:40, 14 August 2007 (UTC)

I'll see what I can do about making this article more intriguing if I can figure out the WikiML (Wiki Markup Language). I am a Volunteer at the NYC Museum and I'll work something out with the curator the next chance I get to visit. Its been a while since I havent had the chance to make the 1 hour trip but I'm planing to go within the next week or so. Dp67 14:54, 14 August 2007 (UTC)

Way cool. Take a look at Illinois Railway Museum and National Railway Museum for examples of what could be done. The former is a good overview of the property but needs better references; the latter is better referenced. Slambo (Speak) 17:17, 14 August 2007 (UTC)
