[edit] GAN Review: On Hold

I have reviewed this article according to the requirements of the GA criteria and have put the article on hold at this time until the following issues are addressed:

  1. "After three years at the Franklin Academy, he became principal of the Brookeville Academy in Montgomery County, Maryland,[3] however he resigned from the academy in 1836, when the school was unable to pay his salary.[4]" Split this into two sentences.
  2. "Brooks died on October 6, 1898 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.[6]" Is it known what he died of?
  3. "Brooks also translated and published several editions of the works of Ovid, Caesar, and Virgil. He also wrote several popular history books including A Complete History Of The Mexican War, published in 1849 and The History of the Church.[10]" Remove "also" from one of the sentences to prevent it from being repetitive.
  4. Add categories Category:1809 births and Category:1898 deaths

The article looks fine overall, and these above issues should be very easy to fix for this brief article. I will leave the article on hold for seven days for the above issues to be addressed. If you have any questions about the review or when you are done, let me know on my talk page and I'll get back to you as soon as I can. --Nehrams2020 (talk) 00:53, 20 November 2007 (UTC)

First off, thank you for the review. Below are my responses to your concerns.

  1. Edited that section of the paragraph. I think it flows better now.
  2. Unfortunately, the obituary does not mention the cause of death.
  3. Edited the last paragraph of the article. It seems to be less repetitive now.
  4. Added categories.

Thanks again for the review. Let me know if there are any additional concerns or other ways to improve the article. Golem88991 (talk) 07:54, 20 November 2007 (UTC)
