Naturally Advanced Technologies is a Vancouver, BC-based cleantech company focused on providing textile, composite and pulping solutions, through the processing of industrial hemp, and other bast fibers. The company states that it believes that using hemp as an alternative to other fibers results in end products which are more environmentally-friendly than those currently produced using conventional feedstock.[2] Naturally Advanced is now developing and commercializing[3] its proprietary CRAILAR® fiber processing technology in partnership with the National Research Council of Canada and the Alberta Research Council.[4] The CRAILAR® process and resulting products and by-products are expected to have applications in apparel, performance textiles, energy, composite materials, and pulp and paper markets.[5]
