Natural Induction

Induction is a method of artificially or prematurely stimulating labour in a pregnant woman. There are several artifical methods of stimulating labour but these may increase the propensity of having a caesarian section see *Induction (birth)


There are many methods of natural induction:

  1. Castor Oil - Causes Digestive contractions leading to Uterine contractions
  2. Enema - Causes Digestive contractions leading to Uterine contractions
  3. Sexual intercourse - Semen can ripen the Cervix due to effects of prostaglandin, Orgasm can start uterine contraction
  4. Nipple stimulation - Causes uterine contractions
