From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
The National Union of Students Scotland is the Scottish section of the National Union of Students of the United Kingdom. NUS Scotland was formed following the merger of the NUS in Scotland with the Scottish Union of Students in 1971. The first Chairperson of NUS Scotland was Douglas Henderson.
In 1984 the title was changed to President. NUS Scotland presidents are elected at the NUS Scotland Conference by student representatives from member students’ associations, and hold the post from 1 July to 30 June. Presidents can hold this post for a maximum of two years.
