[edit] History

The National Taichung First Senior High School was founded by some members of gentry in Taichung in 1915, being Lin Lie-tang (林烈堂), Lin Hsien-tang (林獻堂), Lin Hsiung-chen (林熊徵), Tsai Lien-fang (蔡蓮舫) and Koo Hsien-jung (辜顯榮). They fought against the unfair policy of education of Japanese colonial government and founded the Taichung High School, the former of the TCFSH.
- In 1921, its name was changed into Taiwan Provincial Taichung First Senior High School(TCFSH). It was the only school that was established only for Taiwanese student when Taiwan was under Japan's control.
- In 1948, Taiwan was a part of the Republic of China. At that time, the ministry of education elected Taichung First Senior High School to be the best high school of Taiwan.
