The National Song Contest (more recently known as Eurosong) is the competition used to select the Irish participant at the Eurovision Song Contest. It is organised by Radio Telefís Éireann. Due to poor Eurovision results, the contest was abandoned in 2001 and the competition was replaced by the You're A Star reality series. In 2006, the competition was resurrected to select a song for Brian Kennedy to perform at the 2006 Eurovision, and will now be used to select the Irish entry for the foreseeable future.
