The National Reconstruction Bureau (NRB) is located in Islamabad, Pakistan. The bureau was established on the 18th November, 1999 with the mission to formulate policy for reconstruction. Within the parameters of the 7-Point Agenda declared by the Government of Pakistan in October 1999, the National Reconstruction Bureau formulated recommendations for reconstruction of Local Governments and the Police which were approved in August 2000 by the National Security Council and the Federal Cabinet. These were further transformed into separate legal instruments through an intensive consultative process with the provincial governments.
