National Radio 1 is a English speaking national online radio station operated by TDK Media Ltd in Cyprus, playing the best mix from the 80's 90's and today. The station is aimed at the English speaking residents and visitors to one of the most popular mediteranian holiday destination islands. National Radio 1 was launched at 7.00am on 26 April 2008 and operates 24 hours a day providing a balanced programme of music, entertaining features and Cyprus & world news.

In early January 2007 a group of radio presenters, marketing consultants and investors came together with a single idea in mind. To bring a new English speaking national radio station to Cyprus. Although there are a number of Greek/English stations through out Cyprus there were no English only speaking stations transmitting nationally. English is widley spoken across the island and is taught as part of the education system from an early age in all schools. On 26th April 2007 National Radio 1 swtiched over to its Dallas, Texas USA server and began broadcasting online across the country and out to the rest of Europe. The first song played on National Radio 1 was Take That, Never Forget. Chosen by the CEO of TDK Media Ltd in recognition of the hard work by the team to get that station off the ground.
National Radio 1 currently live 24 hour a day from Broadcasting House in Paphos, Cyprus near Carrefour Supermarket at the top end of town.
The station currently broadcasts online across the island and out to Europe but is planning FM transmissions once local government releases applications. National Radio 1 is still awaiting information as to when this will be from the government of Cyprus.

Studio 1 is where the live programmes are produced, presented and broadcasted 24 hours day.
It took 5 people and 2 weeks to install the technology, cabling and software which are used in todays broadcasting.
